Concepts
What is Kavo?
A Stock Basis Trader on Robinhood Chain. It compares the onchain price of a Robinhood Stock Token against the normalized reference price of the underlying equity, and lets you trade the difference through existing onchain liquidity.
What is basis trading?
Trading the gap between two prices for the same underlying exposure rather than betting on direction. Here the gap is between a Stock Token onchain and the stock it tracks. See Basis.
What does premium mean?
The token is trading above its normalized reference price. A token quoted at $102 against a $100 reference is at a 2% premium.
What does discount mean?
The token is trading below its normalized reference price. A token quoted at $98 against a $100 reference is at a 2% discount.
What is a Stock Token?
An instrument issued by Robinhood that references the price of an equity. It is not a share: holding one gives you no ownership of the company, no voting rights and none of the protections of holding the underlying security.
Pricing
Why does Kavo normalize reference prices?
Because the reference endpoint returns the price of the underlying stock, while the onchain price is the price of a token. A Stock Token is not always one whole share, so the two are not directly comparable until the multiplier is applied. See Pricing.
What is currentMultiplier?
A per-token value that handles corporate actions such as splits and distributions. One token is worth the underlying share price multiplied by it. Most tokens sit at exactly 1, but not all of them, and Kavo applies it unconditionally.
What is the difference between reference price and executable price?
The reference price is what one token should be worth given the equity. The executable price is what a real swap of your size actually fills at onchain. Kavo shows both and computes the basis from the executable one, because a price you cannot trade at is not useful. Kavo also shows the Chainlink oracle price separately where a feed exists.
Using Kavo
Can I buy Stock Tokens through Kavo?
You can trade them through Kavo against available onchain liquidity, using USDG as the quote asset. Kavo does not issue or mint Stock Tokens. See Trading.
Does Kavo hold my funds?
No. Kavo never takes custody. It assembles the transaction and your wallet signs and broadcasts it; funds move directly between your wallet and the liquidity venue.
What happens if there is no liquidity?
Kavo shows No executable route and disables the trade. It does not synthesise a quote, fall back to an oracle price, or offer execution it cannot deliver.
How are routes chosen?
Every supported venue is quoted at your exact input size in parallel, and whichever route returns the most output wins. See Routing.
